Dan Daneshrad
Director of Web Development
Dan Daneshrad - Early ages
Dan Daneshrad / web developer was born October 29, 1968, in Tehran, Iran, son to Dr. Nasser K. Daneshrad and Pourandokht Houman.
For a majority of his youth, Dan Daneshrad (web developer) experienced multiculturalism first-hand. Although having been born in a
culture which was advancing as a modern nation (Iran in the 70's), nevertheless remnants of remnants of
uncivilized regimes still existed.
Dan Daneshrad - Education
Dan's education took him through some of the best schools in the world. Lysee Rasie (French school), in Iran,
is where Dan was first exposed to the European cultures and education. A summer in Israel, and another
in Switzerland gave Dan a new feel of other cultures, and a thirst for assimilating new experiences.
By the age of 8, due to political unrest in Iran, his family had to leave the country, as intolerance
of Judaism in the Islamic-based country was growing.
Dan Daneshrad - Moving to America
Dan's family moved to Cupertino, California. This was a very quiet town, peaceful and friendly. Maybe
too peaceful. There Dan Daneshrad began learning a new language, English, which became the foundation of his future
education. This was also home to Apple Computer, Inc. where the headquarters were located: Dan Daneshrad's first exposure
to computers. Here Dan went to Portal Elementary School, and Cupertino Junior High School.
Dan Daneshrad = Life in Canada
Life in Cupertino was on the boring side, so the family made a move for Montreal, Canada. The
cross-country drive was an experience in itself.
In Montreal, Dan Daneshrad had to dive back into French after 5 years of English, at College Marie the France.
Life in Montreal was challenging:
The language, the friends, and especially the EXTREME COLD.
Nevertheless, Montreal gave Dan a tremendous amount of culture: A Bar Mitzvah, and a new hobby in music. This is where he
learned his new passion of guitar.
By the end of that school year, the family decided that it was time for a change again ~ another 6 days of cross-country
driving back to Cupertino, California.
It wasn't all too bad, since upon his return, Dan Daneshrad skipped grade 9, and found himself in Homestead High School, studying
the theorems of Advanced Geometry, Pythagoras, etc. Very fascinating material.
However, the boredom of the small town hit again, and by the end of that school year, the family decided to make
another move: this time to Vancouver, British Columbia.
In Vancouver, a beautiful city, Dan found himself once again in a completely new environment; one with much open space,
and a back-tone of British Sovereignty, young kids, and their idiosyncracies: a whole new pattern to get adjusted to.
Vancouver gave Dan continued culture, new music, new friends and all the
very important elements which led to his success in his education and career.
At Lord Byng Secondary School, Dan studied various subjects, excelling in Algebra, Physics, Chemistry, and his then passion
Biology. The 2 years at Lord Byng earned Dan the Euclidian Math Award, and Full Scholarship to his University Education
at University of British Columbia (UBC).
In UBC, Dan advanced in the Sciences, going deep into Zoology, Botany, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Physics,
Economy, Integral Calculus, Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics, etc. obtaining some of the highest marks in the
classes.
Completing his degree in "Cellular Biology" at UBC, Dan Daneshrad obtained some work experience, and
then continued his education in his first calling "Computers," at CDI, where he got his degree in
Systems Analysis / Programming.
These often experienced rapid and
unexpected change of pace, which dovetails perfectly into today's Internet-speed communications.
Dan Daneshrad - in Los Angeles
Arriving in Los Angeles, in 1996, Dan Daneshrad decided to pursue his career as a freelance programmer. Soon, however,
he discovered the emergence of a new technology which was about to sweep the world: The Internet.
Naturally, he delved into this new and developing technology as rapidly as he could get his hands on it, learning
every aspect of it as fast as possible. The technology continues to develop, today.
Working with companies like, People Support, Inc., California Association of Realtors, Los Angeles County
Department of Health Services, Countrywide, and others, Dan's focus changed from "programming" to
"Marketing: the art of persuassion."
In the meanwhile, Dan continued his music, and culture assimilation, growing personality-wise, to be able to understand
not only his own (Persian) culture but those of many others. He attributes much of his success to
his parents, to his multi-cultural upbringing.
Today, Dan is working on advanced marketing projects at JWT, for clients such as Nissan, Merrill Lynch, Microsoft, and
Boeing.
The future is bright.
